Essential cookies either store a choice you have made — your consent decision and your light or dark mode preference — or keep the site working, which is what the two Azure routing cookies do. None of them contains personal data or is used to track you, and under UK and EU rules cookies that are strictly necessary to deliver the service do not require consent. The Azure cookies hold only a server identifier, are set by our hosting platform rather than by us, and are deleted when you close your browser.
Analytics cookies are set by Google Analytics, and only after you accept them. With your consent we also load Ahrefs Web Analytics, which measures page visits; Ahrefs states that its analytics does not use cookies.
This website sets no advertising, marketing or remarketing cookies, and we do not use analytics data for advertising or share it with advertising networks. If that ever changes, this policy and the consent banner will be updated before it does.
3. How we use cookies
Praeferre uses cookies on this website to:
- remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies
- remember your light or dark mode choice
- keep your requests on the same server while you browse, so the site behaves consistently
- with your consent, measure how the site is used — which pages people read, and how they arrived — so we can improve it
4. Managing your preferences
The banner shown on your first visit lets you accept or reject analytics cookies. You can change your choice at any time using , which appears in the footer of every page. Rejecting analytics removes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the essential cookies, the site still works, but it cannot remember your consent choice or your light or dark mode preference, so the banner will appear again on your next visit.
5. Third parties
The only third-party services loaded on this website are Google Analytics and Ahrefs Web Analytics, both of which run only after you accept analytics cookies. They process data on our behalf under GDPR-compliant terms:

The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which does not set cookies.
